Well I've been a complete slacker in the Blog department.  Most if not all of you know Justin Ryan Herren arrived on June 15, 2012 at 3:54 pm two weeks early via C-section.  He weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs. 3 oz. and 21 inches long.

The one thing I wanted to avoid...

                                                            Easter Morning 29 weeks

Well I have officially been put on modified bed rest.  This means no house work, no driving and no working (except from home).  Pretty much the only thing that I can do is take care of Logan (luckily he is so independent that all I need to do is make sure he's fed during the day and that's it) and myself.  Ryan has been so awesome about all this and gets mad at me if I get up for anything.  We want to make sure I cook this baby for a while longer.  I'm only 29 weeks along after all. 

Why am I being put on modified bed rest?  Last Sunday (Easter Sunday) I thought I was experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions.  After a while they decided to become more regular and about every 2 minutes apart.  Ryan took me to laber and delivery at IMC and they confirmed in fact I was contracting.  At first they thought I was just dehydrated and once I got some fluid in me, the contractions would go away.  Well that wasn't the case.  They had to give me some medication to stop the contractions.  Luckily that worked.  It was quite a scary thing thinking that we might be delivering a baby at 29 weeks.  And I thought Logan was early at 35 weeks!

I just have to keep reminding myself to SSSLLLOOOWWW down and let others take care of things for me (which is hard for a very independent person to do).  Again I don't know what I would do without my husband.  He has been so good to me and he is such a loving and caring person.  I would be lost without him.

15 Weeks left

Weird to think I only have 15 weeks left in this pregnancy.  Time has gone by very fast.  I'm just hoping that I make it to full term (which is the end of June) or at least by the first part of June.  The chances of me having another preterm birth is very high.  Keep your fingers crossed that I don't go too early!!

IT'S A BOY!!

We are excited to announce that we are expecting another boy!  We are very thrilled and happy to know the baby is healthy (the ultrasound tech did a very in depth exam of the baby) and it growing normally.  He is around 12 oz and just guessing around 7 inches in length.  :)  I know I was feeling girl the whole time but the more I think about it, I think it was wishful thinking.  Not that I'm disappointed in having another boy, I just wanted a little girl so badly.  So if this baby is for sure a boy (which according to the ultrasound, it is a very OBVIOUS boy) we will have a bunch of baby girl stuff to get rid of. 

One thing that we are concerned about is the fact that there is a very good possibility that I will have another premature baby.  Apparently the placenta is very close to my cervix (TMI maybe? ;}) so they want me to come back at 32 weeks to do another ultrasound to see if that is still the case.  If that is still the case, I'm not sure what they will want me to do.  I hope not bed rest.  Logan came 5 weeks early and the doctor that came in to talk to us yesterday says there is that good chance that this little man could come that early too.  If that's the case, I only have 15 more weeks to go.  AAAHHHHH!!!   If I can make it to 37 weeks, I'll be happy.  I'll keep everyone posted. 

Prenatal Appts

It's been a while since I've posted anything on here.  I am 20 weeks along (half way done!!) and very tired.  I've been lucky that I haven't been sick at all during this pregnancy, just uncomfortable and tired.  I've gone to a couple of prenatal appointments and everything looks good.  I'm right where I'm supposed to be weight wise and the baby's heartbeat sounds very healthy and strong. One thing that is going to be interesting is the fact that my doctor will not be delivering my baby.  She is due two weeks before me!  Crazy!   We find out this coming Wednesday if we are having a boy or a girl (will I believe it, probably not).  We will also be doing Fetal Fotos later in the month to see if both ultrasounds match up or not.  Ryan feels that we are having a girl this time and I've felt that the whole time too.  We shall see....  :)

Reality really has set in :)

I went for my first prenatal appointment last week. Sure I knew I was pregnant; I saw that little plus sign on the pregnancy test. I've been feeling some of the signs; very tired, boobs hurt like hell, peeing a lot, very moody. Reality didn't sink in until I saw the little "blob" on the ultrasound screen (not trying to be rude, that is what the baby looks like at 10 weeks) and it's little heart a fluttering away. The heartbeat is at 150 bpm. Just seeing the little one inside of my belly got me really more excited and also kinda scared. I'm going to be the mother of 2 children. Not just one energetic but lovable 3 1/2 year old (that's how old Logan will be when baby #2 gets here) but a newborn too.

 

 

 

How do I keep them both happy?

 

 

 

I know that I will be fine and Ryan will be fine as well and our instincts will kick in. It's just crazy to think that we are going to have two kids!! We are super excited too. :) We don't know for sure, but we think that this one might be another boy. I took an early gender test (this was a free study up at ARUP) and they said that I had Y chromosome in my blood. Sure that could be left over from Logan (if you have had a previous male birth, you will still have the Y chromosome hang out in your system for years) so we'll see what the ultrasound brings (well you all know what happened last time!!). I would love to have a little girl, but another boy would be awesome as well. :)

Tolman Farm ~ House Demo

September 12, 2011. My Grandparents house was demolished. It really wasn't sad for me even though I thought it would be. I looked at it as this was just a house now. It was a home when my Grandparents were still here. It was a home when we all got together as a family. Now that my Grandparents are gone, it's just a house. I would rather have them back then this old over 100 year old farm house. We had good memories there and I'm hoping the traditions never end just because this property is gone now.

Gough homes was kind enough to just break one side of the house so we could grab some brick. We had no idea that there was two layers of brick to his house.

The house went pretty quick. Probably only around 7 minutes.

Living Planet Aquarium!!

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium yesterday and Logan loved it! It was his first time going there.

Finally some AWESOME news!

We took Logan to see his doc last Thursday and his doc was even more impressed with how he has healed then before. This time, we really do think we are in the clear. We are excited to start potty training soon! Yay!! I'm so proud of my little man with what he has put up with the first 2 1/2 years of his life. I love him so! Thanks to everyone for their love and support. We have really appreciated it!!

Logan's Surgery (#4)

Logan had his 4th surgery on 5/5/2011. Everything went great! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that this is the last one. :) And thank you to everyone's love and support.

Easter 2011

This year was pretty much a Cars theme. It is Logan's favorite movie and he loves the cars themselves. He had a couple already but the Easter Bunny felt that he needed many more.

This is how he played all morning. His little knees were so red because he refused to get up for anything. He was also very upset when we made him eat breakfast and also to go down for a nap later in the day. How mean are we? :)

In loving memory

My Grandma Tolman past away this morning at the age of 86. She was my last living grandparent. I love you Grandma and will miss you always!

Finally some good news!!

Logan had his appt. with his Urologist today and his doc said that everything looks great! NO MORE SURGERIES! We still have to take Logan in to see his doc in about a year for a checkup and then in about a year after that just to make sure everything is still good. Yay! Huge weight lifted off of our shoulders for sure. This does not mean we are going to start trying for another kid. I want another one, but we have other things that are priority first. :)

I've been meaning to update this, but keep forgetting. We found out that Logan for sure has a heart murmur, but it's nothing to worry about. They did find something a little weird though. It is something that is very rare to have. There is an extra vein that is connected to the heart but eventually dissolves (it's either before birth or right after this happens). His did not dissolve. This is not a big deal at all. The doc said that he has a healthy heart and will have a long heart life :). So pretty much Logan has a right and left SVC (superior vena cava) instead of just a right one.
